How's the run animation work? Is there a specific order? I tried this order and wasn't able to get it to work in a logical sense. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong haha

Try this order for facing down:
Frame 2 -> Frame 3 ->Frame 4->Frame 3

up is:
5,6,7,8

Left is:
9,10,11,12

Right is:
13,14,15,16

Some honest feedback, this will really help if you can make this change. When you say "body", this should be your naked character (we call this character base in pixel art). Everything should be its own piece/folder. You're doing this 90% already, with accessories, hair, etc. Why? Game engines will allow users to "build" their own characters, by combining naked body, clothing, hats, etc.

So I'd recommend splitting out the "bodies" because currently, they're not bodies. they're body+clothing that is inseparable.

thank!

Is there a readme or guide on how to use it?

No, do you think you'd need one? This is a surprisingly simple collection of assets and tools. I may make a tutorial video if you feel it's necessary.

What a banger!

THANK YOU!!

Loving this. Oh man, I'm going to make so many custom objects/accessories!

Thank you! That's part of the idea. You can add your own heads and bodies or accessories in and have them combine across all the options to really make some unique people for your games. Thanks again!

No no, thank YOU for making these great assets!

Just FYI, there is a definite lack of ARPG style monsters outside of a couple of packs, if you're ever looking for any good niches in this retro style you have. I would pay for a monster maker like that, or even  just a series of 4 directional monster chips. Just ideas floating out my ears, don't mind me!

damn I didn't know you dropped this banger

I've been using your sprites for some projects now, and I JUST finished a game for a game jam using them, so I know this is a must grab! Thanks again mate!

Thank you so much! Really happy to hear you're getting good use out of these sprites.

This is awesome! Inspires to me to see more DIY/customizable 16x16 content out there.

Thank you! I agree, and I plan to keep adding to this collection until it's really comprehensive. I like the idea of being able to give a developer countless character sprites so they can build expansive 16x16 worlds with unique citizens that do more than walk around.
